Nirvana : Smells Like Teen Spirit | Album - Nevermind (1991)

This is the most famous song of American rock band Nirvana. Its written by Written by Kurt Cobain, Krist Novoselic, and Dave Grohl. The guitar played in this song is unmatchable. In the years since Kurt Cobain's death, listeners and critics have continued to praise "Smells Like Teen Spirit" as one of the greatest rock songs of all time. In an interview Kurt Cobain revealed that  this song was an attempt to write a song in the style of the Pixies, a band he greatly admired.

Jeeva (1986) : Roz Roz Aankhon Tale | रोज़ रोज़ आँखों तले | Asha Bhosle | Amit Kumar

Terrific song from an average movie. This was one of Sanjay Dutt's "comeback" movies - after he returned from rehab from the USA. Only a few directors were willing to take him on - and he proved them he still had it and has been at it ever since. Good for him! This song is simply awesome.

Aashiqui 2 (2013) : Tum Hi Ho | तुम ही हो | Arijit Singh

Probably this is the most famous song of year 2013 and its deserve it. The amazing lyrics by Mithoon and fabulous singing by Arijit Singh makes this song stand out of the crowd. Simple music with strong meaningful lyrics and pain in voice of Arijit makes this song memorable. Character played by Aditya Roy Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor doing justice to this awesome composition by subtle performance and expression.

Metallica : Nothing Else Matters | Album - Metallica (1992)

This amazing song was relesed in 1992. Since then it has been covered over forty times. Singer and rhythm guitarist James Hetfield wrote the song while he was on the phone with his then girlfriend. Since he held the phone with one hand, he plucked the four open strings of a standard E-minor chord with the other, which eventually made up the first two bars of the song. The lyrics, which talk about being "so close, no matter how far", were also dedicated to his girlfriend, indicating the bond they shared even when Hetfield was on tour.

Dedh Ishqiya (2014) : Dil Ka Mizaaj Ishqiya | दिल का मिज़ाज इश्किया | Rahat Fateh Ali Khan

Whenever new song of Gulzar Sahab comes I feel very excited as now I will listen something new...something new about love..something new about feelings. I always wonder how he is writing for so many years about feeling & love in such a beautiful ways with freshness each year. Its hard to find an emotion or feelings which Gulzar Sahab has not describe by his poetry or songs. And whenever he comes with Vishal Bharadwaj, each song just trun out Marvellous ! I think after R.D. Burman, Gulzar sahab finds that BOND with Vishal Bharadwaj. And having said that

Maroon 5 : She Will Be Loved | Album - Songs About Jane (2002)

“You say you love rain, but you use an umbrella to walk under it. You say you love sun, but you seek shelter when it is shining. You say you love wind, but when it comes you close your windows. So that's why I'm scared when you say you love me.” ― Bob MarleyThis quote by Bob Marley i think is relevant to this song as when you watch the video you might get what i'm trying to say.

The film is based on Bengali short story titled, 'Nurse Mitra' by noted Bengali writer, Ashutosh Mukherjee, and is an almost frame by frame remake of director Asit Sen's own Bengali film, Deep Jwele Jaai (1959) starring Suchitra Sen. This song is definition of true love, love is not always getting what you want for you but to sacrifice even your life for someone you love without any second thought. Really great poetry by Gulzar Sahab and melodies voice of Lata Ji simply awesome. I love this song its so close to my heart.

Madonna - Frozen | Album - Ray of Light (1998)

This song talks about a cold and emotionless human being. I'm fan of this song because of its amazing lyrics and fabulous beats. This video song was directed by Chris Cunningham in a desert in California, portraying Madonna as an ethereal Gothic witchy, melancholy persona, shape shifting into a flock of birds and a black dog. This video song  won the MTV Video Music Award for "Best Special Effects" in 1998.

Jagjit Singh : Teri Berukhi Aur Teri Meharbaani | तेरी बेरुखी और तेरी मेहरबानी | Album - Forget Me Not (2002)

Probably i won't be able to write anything about this Ghazal but i think this quote will be able to describe this beautiful rendition by late Jagjit Ji. “I am nothing special, of this I am sure. I am a common man with common thoughts and I've led a common life. There are no monuments dedicated to me and my name will soon be forgotten, but I've loved another with all my heart and soul, and to me, this has always been enough..” ― Nicholas Sparks, The Notebook

Led Zeppelin - Stairway to Heaven | Album - Led Zeppelin IV (1971)

This song was released in 1971. Composed by guitarist Jimmy Page vocalist Robert Plant.  It is often referred to as one of the greatest rock songs of all time. "Stairway to Heaven" was voted #3 in 2000 by VH1 on its list of the 100 Greatest Rock Songs. Its Pure Magic! Its almost like a best selling novel you just get swepted away for a journey for 8 minutes......then you wake up and you are like WHOA!! what the hell was that!! Damn gotta re-live that drug man! ;)

There are many Sun and stars in our galaxy and there is one black hole too which has the tremendous gravity and absorb everything whatever comes near to it. The voice of Legend Rafi Sahab is the same black hole.

This song wins the hearts only when is just start by opening line by Rafi Sahab "Hum hmm hm hmm hmm .aa aaa ..aa chale gaye". In my opinion this song is an amazing example of a music piece  which is supposed to be a sad song but at the same time its gives you exotic feel of happiness and at the same feel of a Ghazal too.

Lootera (2013) : Shikayatein | शिकायतें | Amitabh Bhattacharya | Mohan Kanan

Amit Trivedi music and its awesome lyrics make this soundtrack more beautiful. This movie Lootera is partly based on author O. Henry's 1907 short story The Last Leaf. When the music was released someone wrote..."Amit Trivedi and Amitabh Bhattacharya with this album has perhaps delivered a masterpiece they can live off all their lives." The emotion behind the music, translates beautifully on screen in this film. This is the kind of song which more you listen the more you fall in love. Share your views on this song in comment box. Thanks!

The Dewarists : Maaya | माया | Indian Ocean | Mohit Chauhan

This is what I call Indian Music...This is what roots of our music..this is what i call Awesomeness Amalgamated. Indian Ocean always brings out the beauty of Indian Music and its meaning in simple way.

This Gem from superhit movie 'Kashmir Ki Kali' is based on "Raag Pahadi". Well, I read somewhere that O. P. Nayyar never ever worked with the most famous female singer of Bollywood 'Lata Mangeshkar'. OP Nayyar after losing Gita Dutt from the payback singing world never took any one except Asha Bhosle for lead singer. The story goes that at one point one of the directors suggested to Lata Ji for using OP Sahab as the music director.

Saath Saath (1982) : Tumko Dekha To Ye Khayal Aaya | तुमको देखा तो ये ख़याल आया | Jagjit Singh | Chitra Singh

Jagjit and Chitra Singh enriched our lives tremendously with their songs. Jagjit's beautiful voice is unforgettable. Rest in peace Jagjit Sahab. Each song of yours will remain with us always.
The more simple the song the more simple is effortless acting by Farooq Shaikh & Deepti Naval. Just see how beautifully and innocently they are giving meaning to those words. Amazing !! if you have some other thought on the song please post them in comment box below the post. Thanks!

Lady Antebellum - Need You Now | Album : Need You Now (2010)

Famous Japanese writer Haruki Murakami wrote in his book Sputnik Sweetheart “Why do people have to be this lonely? What's the point of it all? Millions of people in this world, all of them yearning, looking to others to satisfy them, yet isolating themselves. Why? Was the earth put here just to nourish human loneliness?”

Silsila (1981) : Dekha Ek Khwaab To Yeh Silsile Hue | देखा एक ख्वाब तो ये सिलसिले हुए | Kishore Kumar | Lata Mangeshkar

This was shot in the Keukenhof tulip gardens in The Netherlands and some parts in Pahalgam. Silsila is said to be loosely inspired by the alleged real life love triangle of Amitabh-Jaya-Rekha, which was the most talked about affair back then.
This is the only movie in which Shashi Kapoor is the Elder brother of Amitabh Bachchan. All their other movies in which they are brothers, Amitabh Bachchan is the elder one.

This is one of those timeless classic which is never ever going to be old. Each time you hear this song and you just can't stop yourself for humming it or appreciating the song. This is the magic of this song. Whether it is music, singing or lyrics, each beat, each word, each node is JUST PERFECT!!!

John Denver - Take Me Home, Country Roads | Album - Poems, Prayers and Promises (1971)

It became one of John Denver's most popular and world-wide beloved songs, and is still very popular around the world, considered to be John Denver's own signature song. It also has a prominent status as an iconic symbol of West Virginia; for example,it was played at the funeral memorial for U.S. Senator Robert Byrd in July 2010.

Ek Thi Daayan (2013) : Yaaram | यारम | Sunidhi Chauhan | Clinton Cerejo

James Blunt - Goodbye My Lover | Album : Back to Bedlam (2004)

Most of the people listening to this song have said to goodbye to their lovers..its a breath taking song for the one who lost their love one's. This is just so beautiful and heartbreaking.

Barfi (2012) : Phir Le Aaya Dil | फिर ले आया दिल | Arijit Singh | Rekha Bharadwaj | Shafqat Amanat Ali

Now this is something which I call-Mesmerising! This type of music, and this style of singing — Ghazal based semi-classical mode of singing — has been a lost art in contemporary movies. This top track here is in voice of Arijit Singh. Please check other two version also in voice of Rekha Bharadwaj & Shafqat Amanat Ali.

Hoobastank - The Reason

I don't even remember how long this song has been my favourite, This song speeds up my heart beat and really hurts in every time. I don t know how it effects.but I love it.

Those were the days when such kind of songs got created in abundance. The fact that the music directors and lyricists devoted considerable time in getting the song right certainly went a long way in ensuring that such songs are liked even today by the listeners.

Kalakaar (1983) : Neele Neele Ambar Par | नीले नीले अम्बर पर | Kishore Kumar

All time classic. This Kishore Kumar track is still a favorite with many remix versions but the original remains original with Sridevi & Kunal Kapoor. Those who learn guitar always want to learn this track, isn't it?

GREEN DAY - Boulevard Of Broken Dreams | Album - American Idiot (2003)

Well this is from 2005 but is still better than 90% of the music from these days. I think This video and the vid eo for "Holiday" were filmed together (which is why they're wearing the same outfits as in "Holiday"), so I think someone should combine the two into one video, as "Holiday" runs right into "Boulevard of Broken Dreams." on the actual album, and the video for "Holiday" ends right where this one kicks off, just from a different angle :)

Fountains of Wayne - Stacy's Mom

Stacy's mom has got it goin' on
Stacy's mom has got it goin' on
Stacy's mom has got it goin' on
Stacy's mom has got it goin' on

“I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where. I love you simply, without problems or pride: I love you in this way because I do not know any other way of loving but this, in which there is no I or you, so intimate that your hand upon my chest is my hand, so intimate that when I fall asleep your eyes close.”  -  Pablo Neruda

Jab We Met (2007) : Tum Se Hi | तुम से ही | Mohit Chauhan

The song that inspired everybody that love must be honest and chased. This song shows how u don't really need to be sitting right across to feel the divine feeling of love. It can be felt with your better half across oceans, you just need an undying love for that someone.

Kati Patang (1970) : Pyar Deewana Hota Hai | प्यार दीवाना होता है | Kishore Kumar

This movie is a remake of an English movie called No Man of Her Own (1950). The film Kati Patang was a "hit" and the sixth highest earning Bollywood film of 1970's, and together with Aradhana (1969), and Amar Prem (1972), Director Shakti Samata went on to have a hattrick of hits with Rajesh Khanna. Kishore Kumar sang four solos for Rajesh Khanna, while Mukesh got to sing a number for the latter - a rare combination.

Udaan (2010) : Naav | नाव | Mohan, Joi Barua & Neuman Pinto

An Awe inspiring song with thoughtful lyrics its a song when anyone is down with hardships and dilemmas...well done team Udaan!! .. What A Song!! .every line is beautiful, inspirational and meaningful. Indian film industry has seen a lot of vibrant and creative new lyricists.

Rafi

What beautiful music direction by Laxmikant Pyarelel. And of-course Rafi Saheb steals our hearts each time he sings, That voice is godly. Lata was equally gifted. What a punch Rafi Saab puts in his rendition. His throw and diction transports me to another world every time I hear him sing. Lata ji is equally good in this song. One classic instance when one can just close his or her eyes and get carried away by the song alone. The visualization lags miles behind the passion and melody of the song.
