Top 10 Bollywood Songs choices of Auto/Bus/Taxi/Truck Drivers in India

This post is only based on my personal observation over the years while travelling in MP, UP, Delhi, Rajasthan and other Hindi speaking states of India. I always wonder why the most of the time these drivers of auto/bus/taxi listen sad songs?

Ryan Adams - Desire | Album - Demolition (2002)

"Desire" is a song by Ryan Adams from his 2002 album Demolition. I found this song when is was watching TV Series HOUSE M.D., This song comes in on Episode 13 'Skin Deep' in Season 2. When I heard it for the first time I instantly fell in love with this song. Beautiful lyrics of this song make it memorable.

Ekk Deewana Tha (2012) - Hosanna | होसाना | Leon D'souza | Suzanne D'Mello

This movie was the Hindi Remake of Tamil hit Vinnaithandi Varuvaaya. The Tamil version of this song sung by Vijay Prakash. Hindi lyrics has been written by Javed Akhtar, and music is by the mozart A.R.Rahman

Haider (2014) - Aao Na | आओ ना | Vishal Dadlani

This song is from Vishal Bhardwaj's adaptation of William Shakespeare's 'Hamlet', movie named Haider. Lyrics has been written by Gulzar Saab and sung by Vishal Dadlani. Music is by Vishal Bhardwaj himself. This song is very catchy because of its rock feel and awesome lyrics.

U2 - Love Is Blindness (Edge's Solo Performance)

This is the unplugged version of this famous song of U2 by The Edge, who is the lead guitarist of the band U2. This unplugged version is beautiful and soulful. Love it.

Jack White - Love is Blindness | Album - AHK-toong BAY-bi Covered (2011)

This amazing cover is created by Jack White in his tribute album AHK-Toong BAY-bi Covered (2011). This song is originally by U2. This cover of this song is used in movie The Great Gatsby (2013) beautifully and its perfect choice for the movie as its perfectly fit the story I think.

U2 - Love Is Blindness | Album - Achtung Baby (1991)

The song was written on a piano by lead singer Bono during the recording sessions for U2's 1988 album Rattle and Hum. There are several cover has been created of this song but the most famous one is by Jack White which has been used in Movie The Great Gatsby (2013).

Taal (1999) - Beat of Passion | Instrumental | A.R.Rahman

Its been almost 15 years since this album came out but I still enjoy the music of this movie as much as I used to enjoy when I listened it for the first time. This beat of passion is composed by the Mozart of Madras A. R. Rahman while the percussion is by Shivmani.

Guru (2007) - Tere Bina | तेरे बिना | A.R.Rahman | Chinmayi Sripada

This amzing masterpies by Maestro Rahman is dedicated to the memory of Pakistani qawwali singer Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan since it was the 10th anniversary of his death. The song begins with dham dara dham dara refrains, sung by Murtuza Khan and Quadir Khan.

Bryan Adams - Heaven | Album - Reckless (1984)

Songs like this make me wish I got to live that cliche love story...This song still hits the heart hard, even after all these years. Also a reminder of a simpler life that was magic in so many ways.

Aandhi (1975) - Tere Bina Zindagi Se | तेरे बिना ज़िन्दगी से | Kishore Kumar | Lata Mangeshkar

This song is one of the most memorable song of the Gulzar & Pancham Da combination. There are dialogues in between the song and Pancham Da was not taken that well earlier. Who told Gulzar "Do you have any idea of sur and taal? You cut in with your dialogue anywhere you want. It’s not done!".

Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania (2014) - Main Tenu Samjhawan Ki (Unplugged) | मैं तेनु समझावां | Alia Bhatt

This is the Unplugged version of this famous song which is from movie Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania. Alia Bhatt who is actress of this movie sung herself this version and I must say she sung it beautifully.

Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania (2014) - Main Tenu Samjhawan | मैं तेनु समझावां | Arijit Singh | Shreya Ghoshal | Rahat Fateh Ali Khan

This magical song firstly sung by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan in 2010 Punjabi film Virsa. Which now again re-created by Dharma Productions in voice of Arijit Singh & Shreya Ghoshal for this movie. Well, both version of this song are amazing. Although, there is one unplugged version also in this movie album in voice of Alia Bhatt who is also the lead actress of this movie.

Bon Jovi - Thank You For Loving Me | Album - Crush (2000)

This song was written by Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora. This album Crush was nominated for Grammy Awards. Simple, sweet and lovely thankful song to dedicate to your loved onces.

The song's lyrics are based on Lead singer Adam Levine's break-up with an ex-girlfriend. He revealed that the song was written in the "most emotionally trying time" in his life. This song helped Maroon 5 win the MTV Video Music Award for Best New Artist and was the third most played song of 2004. Phil Collins - Another Day In Paradise | Album - But Seriously (1989)

This song Phil Collins wrote about homelessness. Collins sings the song from a third-person perspective, observing as a man crosses the street to ignore a homeless woman, and he implores listeners not to turn a blind eye to homelessness because, by drawing a religious allusion, "it's just another day for you and me in paradise". Collins also appeals directly to God by singing: "Oh lord, is there nothing more anybody can do? Oh lord, there must be something you can say?"

Simple, sweet and beautiful. Sandesh Shandilya has done an amazing job in this song, he has compose such beautiful poetry in such sweet manner that you fall in love with this song. This song carry a sad feel along with a sweet feeling at the same time. Love this movie and all its song but this one is my most favorite among all other favorites.

Talaash (2012) - Muskaanein Jhoothi Hai | मुस्काने झूठी है | Suman Sridhar

A perfect song and lyrics for a suspense thriller movie. The Jazz touch by Ram Sampat is amazing and voice of Suman Sridhar is exotic. Kareena performed it very well. Love this track for its uniqueness and a little bit of Jazz feel.

Saaheb (1985) - Yaar Bina Chain Kahan Re | यार बिना चैन कहाँ रे | Bappi Lahiri | S. Janaki

This song is from the Disco Era of Bollywood from 80's. Well I belive this song is originally inspired by "Try Me, I Know We Can Make It" is a song by Donna Summer from her Love Trilogy album released in 1976. Later this song made in one Bengali movie and then Bappi Lahiri use it in Movie Saaheb.

Ek Villain (2014) - Humdard | हमदर्द | Arijit Singh

I believe sometimes a song can express our feelings more than we can express by saying words and this is that type of song. Simple, pleasant and beautiful song by Arijit Singh with simple rendition. Love it !!

Green Day - 21 Guns | Album - 21st Century Breakdown (2009)

This song by Green Day was nominated for a Grammy for Best Rock Performance by a Duo/Group with Vocals and Best Rock Song in 2010. 

Remix - Yeh Hai Reshmi Zulfon | Album - Dance Fever

I am not a big fan of remixes but sometimes they come out with something really good. Check out this remix of classic sensuous song of Bollywood by Legendary Asha Bhosle from Movie Kismat (1968). Remix has done by Ravi Pawar and sung by Sowmya Raoh, the video is also kind of cute. :D

A beautiful combination of the legendary O P Nayyar &  Asha Bhosle filmed on Biswajeet & Babita. This is one of those amazing seductive song of Bollywood who are still tall stand among other cheap seductive songs. Namastey London (2007) - Main Jahan Rahoon | मैं जहाँ रहूँ | Rahat Fateh Ali Khan | Krishna Beura

When I heard this song before the release of the movie I liked it instantly but thought that it must be for a girl but when I watched the movie I was shocked to see this beautiful song is actually for the country. This song is for all those people who are living far from their beloved country and miss their country every day every moment. Love to all those people. Omkara (2006) - Naina Thag Lege | नैना ठग लेंगे | Rahat Fateh Ali Khan

Omkara is a film adaptation by Vishal Bharadwaj of William Shakespeare's play Othello. The story based in rural India of UP. So, Gulzar written these lyrics with folk touch and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan also sing it very well with that folk feel and not to mention a very good composition done by Vishal Bharadwaj. Beautiful Song!!

Shakira - Underneath Your Clothes | Album - Laundry Service (2001)

The music video for "Underneath Your Clothes" was directed by American photographer Herb Ritts and it was the second to last he directed before his death. It starts with a black-and-white scene of a reporter asking Shakira how she feels about crossing over into the English-speaking music market, and the singer, ironically, answers him in Spanish.

Ustaad Sultan Khan & Chithra - Piya Basanti Re | पिया बसंती रे | Album - Piya Basanti (2000)

This is one of those kind of songs which you want to hear when you need some peace and you just want to listen some good music only. The quality of this song I think is the elegance it carries with it. Simple and beautiful song and beautiful video added more beauty to it.
