Did you know that Kishore Kumar's song Pal Bhar Ke Liye from the film Johny Mera Naam (1970) was used in an episode of The Simpsons titled Kiss Kiss, Bang Bangalore!. On the funny side I believe Bill Gates got the idea of WINDOWS from this song probably.

This movie was a remake of the popular Tamil film Minnale which also starred Madhavan in the lead. Music of this movie was composed by Harris Jayaraj and lyrics were penned down by Sameer. This song sung by Roop Kumar Rathod and one of the best from this movie.

Heard this album Surahi long back in 90's on Audio Cassettes and loved all Ghazals from this album. Vishal Goswami is son of veteran actor of Bollywood Manoj Kumar. I couldn't find the releasing year of this album but I believe its from between 1985 to 1988 because in the first Ghazal of this album legendary actor Raj Kapoor introduce him to audience and Raj Kapoor died in 1988. All Ghazals of this album recorded in front of live audience.

A song from 90's which became favourite of every teenager at that time. Lyrics by Javed Akhtar and melodious voice of Udit Narayan made this song memorable. The movie was not that good but almost every song of this movie was beautiful.

The film was based on the Bengali film 'Nishipadma' (1970). Rajesh Khanna reportedly saw Nishipadma 24 times before zeroing on the role of Anand Babu ! The song topped at 5th position on year-end chart toppers list Binaca Geetmala annual list 1972.

Director Balu Mahendra made this film into Tamil with the same cast in 1982 with name  Moondram Pirai, before making it into Hindi later on in 1983. Sridevi won the Filmfare Award for her amazing performance as autistic child-woman and Kamal Hassan won the Filmfare as well as National Award for his performance for the original Tamil version.

When this movie was released lot of people relate it with the real life of Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan as Jaya was a super star at that time and Amitabh was struggling in his career. But, film author Raju Bharatan said that director of the film Hrishikesh Mukherjee based the film's story on the life of singer Kishore Kumar and his first wife, Ruma Ghosh. This movie was a hit and the big reason was the super hit music of this film composed by maestro S.D.Burman. The video of this song I also find interesting as you can see people are enjoying music on Radio and those old recorder instead of iPod. :)
